Guys and Gals,

Newly weds moving into our first home and I have been awarded the much anticipated permission for a man cave/theatre room. Its a small room, but all I have to work with, (no basements in south FL). Room is 12x10 with 10' ceilings. I have the projector and audio all set I think, but I need help on what colors to paint. This is a dedicated HT room so whatever color I want basically. I was thinking black ceiling, front wall and rear wall and both side walls dark flat red, Heat colors if you hadn't guessed. I like the theme but its not set in stone. Projector is a Panasonic PT-AE7000u with a cinewhite 100" Elite ezframe screen. Let me know what you think.

THanks in advance, Happy Memorial Day!

The walls reflect light more than the front/back, so if you can go black there, it would be better.

A reminder: Flat paint. Not eggshell, not matte... FLAT paint always in a theater.

I'm not at all a fan of the cheap screen, and your projector deserves better, but 100" diagonal in a room 12' deep is about appropriate. You likely can't get much bigger with your depth.

I, personally, would recommend you spend some time looking at some home theater designs to see if there are any elements that you would like to introduce into your space.

I always recommend proper room lighting since I believe that most people completely blow room lighting...

Dark carpet, dark furniture for best results.

Get some sample sizes-free or cheap at most places. Throw them up and pick one. Or better yet, paint it your favorite color(s) and be done with it!
