....here's my elements, if I go ahead at this time....suspect I will....all options are open with the K2's....I suspect it could end up with the two voice-coils wired in series, and either hit the thing with one channel of an amp, or really hit it with a strapped amp....thinking voice, I promise....and, this element has three-way adjustable damping for the Q rating of the enclosure....which WmAx is now figuring internal volume and dimensions....boys, after that Grande purchase, I'm livin' on plastic anyway, and I got some room, haha....correct, it's an untreatable illness....WmAx has been priceless in this narrowing of the elements......

.....edit....the thread is now bonafried, the Infinity 10's are on plastic and enroute.....

.....don't want to let this one fall too far down, 'cause the eagle is moving via the US mail....the Infinity 10 inch elements are on the way....me and WmAx are very close to agreeing on the internal volume, and it's been fun mentoring him so far, haha....as if I'm doing any mentoring with the small cannons....I'm seeing the dual-voice coils as probably to be wired in series, and hitting them with a strapped K2....the voice I'm after stands to be sweeter from changing the ohmage factor of the speaker element from dual 4 ohm unwired, to dual 8 ohm as one wired in series, and a strapped K2 will give a pool of 1600 watts at 8 ohm bridged, to give the sweetness authority....I hope....interesting, strapping the amp doesn't change the ohmage of what the strapped amp sees in the bushes, strapping the amp simply changes the size of the bullets....the speaker elements coming, will probably be wired for 8 ohms of resistance to move toward the more sweetly efficient, and be hit with 4 ohm bullets to add and give authority....I will try all combinations including hitting one 4 ohm voice coil with 2500 strapped 2 ohm bullets....well, in a manner of speaking....the voice-coils paralleled would only allow one channel of the amp with the amp not strapped to be used, but the one channel would shoot two ohm bullets, and I would have a K2 for somewhere else, but, series wiring and strapping will most likely be my route....and, I digress....my first priority at this time, is thinking toward the Earthquake....working out details powering the small cannons will simply be an act of auditioning voices.....

Nice drivers Mule and Wmax. Those are some of the best for fidelity. I remember hearing a guys setup with dual Kappa 10's driven by a massive JL amp in his M5. He was playing Rush. It brought tears to my eyes. Neil Peart is my favorite, and no one can hit the kick drum like Neil can. Those amazing subs did the man justice.

.....thanks, Dave, and sure will....the Soundstream element was rated good up to 1400 cycles of voice....the Infinity elements, on the way, are rated up to 400 cycles of voice....I need about 250 tops.....the Soundstreams would be smooth at 250, but the Infinity elements at 250 would be just starting to shout, and these are cannons....voice coils wired series for more definitive voice....1600 rms pool shooting 4 ohm bullets when the amp is no-doubt stable at 2....but....no idea until I hear all options....

.....the cabinet will have a single faceplate, double walls, and triple bottom....the actual internal will be equal, like 12x12x12, or 12.5x12.5x12.5, the latter of which I believe it's going to be for the attempt....these are small cuts of wood to work with, somebody try this with me.....

3/4" is more than enough. Many pre-built auto boxes use 5/8" with plenty of success. Use high density MDF. I just put down 3/4" particle board for a floor in my attic (needed more storage space). Let me tell you, a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" MDF is heavier than you think.

If you seal it up right, it should take an M80 to blow a seam - even with using only 5/8" high density MDF.

Buck, stop saying High density medium density fiberboard!

Its HDF, Not HDMDF!

Sorry, its just irritating, you know I <3 you buck :)

.....Buck, would Home Depot have this MDF in a thickness of a true full inch?....I'm only going to have to buy one 4x8 sheet....and won't use near all of it....we're talking cannons witn NO give if possible at the bottom especially, and cheap hillbilly awdeeoofile overkill will be embraced, along with a chicken leg.....

.....good grief, had to go to the third page to find this thread, have there been a bunch of threads started the last couple of days or what?....

.....am waiting for something to show up.....the wire and woofers could show tomorrow....will probably report my system from this thread from here on....upon approval of the Earthquake 5, it may get cloned when conditions allow....would have 8 channels of Earthquake for 7.1 main's regiment speakers with high and low centers variable, and two extra Earthquake channels for full-range stereo speakers in a zone 2 no sub....or....the two extra Earthquake channels pushing a Super Bose Set-Up, in said zone 2....four Bose 901's, two Bose 901 "only" EQ's, correct placement of the speakers, paralleling two on each channel, and what you get is real good with imaging covering a whole wall....901's with two 901 eq's are a different speaker....the highs and lows then balance that dominating mid....a 901's system would be for nostalgia's sake only....a better system, by far, of 2-way speakers, now occupies my Home Theater....I'm gonna' go all out on the HT here, and try to take some pictures....this is my last system, and I have few bills....your day will come, young man....bicycles and birthday parties are your present path, and it's the best one as I look back.......

Once I finish my Energy system, I don't think I will go anymore without spending buttloads.

My dream system is M&K THX. With 150's all round. Maybe 350's for subs, but DD's would be nice too.
