I've had my Slappa Hardbody 240 CD case for about three months now and I'm very happy with it. It holds all my CDs (yes, my collection is that small) with room to spare and it allows me to conveniently transport that collection back and forth from home to work each day.
The case itself is sturdy and well-constructed and is taking the normal wear and tear of everyday use and transport (it
laughs at the rain). It shows no signs of distress or failure EXCEPT for the handle. Within a month's time the leather loop that holds the handle to the case started to tear along the stitching.
Today, those loops failed and the handle came off of the case. The case tumbled to the ground, but did it's job, protecting my CDs. As well made and sturdy as these cases are, this seems to be the one weak point. I don't know if the stitching is too close together thus making a structurally weak area, but the leather tore perfectly along the perforations created by the stitching.
To solve this problem Slappa might consider either reducing the number of stitches or using thicker leather for the loops.
They might also consider putting a shoulder strap on their cases.
Aside from that, I'm still happy with the Hardbody and will continue to carry it back and forth to work -- under my arm.
