Slappa HardBody 240 Case Long Term Use Report

I've had my Slappa Hardbody 240 CD case for about three months now and I'm very happy with it. It holds all my CDs (yes, my collection is that small) with room to spare and it allows me to conveniently transport that collection back and forth from home to work each day.

The case itself is sturdy and well-constructed and is taking the normal wear and tear of everyday use and transport (it laughs at the rain). It shows no signs of distress or failure EXCEPT for the handle. Within a month's time the leather loop that holds the handle to the case started to tear along the stitching.

Today, those loops failed and the handle came off of the case. The case tumbled to the ground, but did it's job, protecting my CDs. As well made and sturdy as these cases are, this seems to be the one weak point. I don't know if the stitching is too close together thus making a structurally weak area, but the leather tore perfectly along the perforations created by the stitching.

To solve this problem Slappa might consider either reducing the number of stitches or using thicker leather for the loops.

They might also consider putting a shoulder strap on their cases. ;)

Aside from that, I'm still happy with the Hardbody and will continue to carry it back and forth to work -- under my arm.

I have 4 Slappaa cases. One of them was slightly defective so I called Slappa. They shipped me a new one and a free mini case. Great products, great service.

I've had my Slappa case for about 6 months now (won it here) and have used it in my car the whole time. My only complaint is that some of the slots can be a little difficult with one hand, but I guess that's why these things wern't made for in-car use.

Hey Shadow Ferret,

First of all, I want to apologize for the trouble you've experienced with the handle on your 240 CD Case. We've been selling our HardBody CD cases for 2 years and I can assure you this is a very unusual problem. There's definitely no need to continue carrying your case under your arm back and forth from work. Just send your case back to us and we'll send out a replacement right away.

Send your case to the address below and make sure to include a note with your name, shipping address, phone number and email address.

SLAPPA DISTRIBUTION LLC
13715 Richmond Park Dr. N. #1005
Jacksonville, Fl USA 32224

It would also be extremely helpful if you could send us a picture of the broken handle, so we can understand the problem more clearly. If it's possible, send a picture to customer.service@slappa.com. We'll throw in an extra blue 40 CD case for your trouble as well.
