Simple Polk/Monitor Audio question

Right now I have Polk LSi-15 speakers in my 2 channel set up. They sound good but I guess I am looking for more or better. My set up is as follows
Emotiva XPA-2 AMP
Emotiva USP-1 and XDA preamps
Marantz CD6004 CD

Looking for a speaker that is just as clear as the LS-i but maybe a touch more bright.. Just a touch. Maybe a hair. Also need more bass/lower end. I updated the Polks with the DB woffers and that helped a little. The speakers just don't have the power I am looking for if that makes sense.

Any ways what if any are your thoughts on the Monitor Audio RX8 for a replacement. Not one person has them close to me for a listen. Reviews on the RX6 and thE RX8 are very good and sound like what I am searching for.
Help if you can

Right 1800
I don't need new speakers but am looking for something better. Only music. What I would like to do is get rid of my sub that I HAVE to use with the Polks. That way i can put the Martin Logan Grotto back in my HT set up.

How is the XDA connected? Do you keep the volume maxed out at 80 and use the USP to do volume control? If not, then you probably want to go read up on the XDA on the emotiva forums.

Phil's 1 rated down to -32 at +/- 2db - I highly doubt for most music you'd need a sub
Alternatives:
Ascend Sierra Tower and Salk SongTowers, but both weaker in bass areas

KEF Q900 - has a closer specs to Phil's, but I'd still think Phils are better value

You changed the bass drivers to car speakers and though it would help?

Not a fan of the LSis here either.

The RX6 tends to do a better job overall with music, over the RX8.
The RX8 will give you more bass - the RX6 has better bass control,
and tends to be more musical sounding with better balance. Overall,
I would chose the RX6.
With the $1800, you can look at the RX6 with something like the
Rythmik FV12 subwoofer, for a musical experience.

There are no guarantees, that this system will be the answer for you.
It would be nice if you can audition the Monitor Audio. Also check the
ID speakers, which have been reccomended.

It's right off the Polk upgrade page. Many have done it and it's a drop in upgrade. They improved the low in a lot but not where I can get away with no sub.

the dBs are supposed to be some of their best drivers, but that isn't saying much from Polk. Still seems like an odd answer to the question, especially coming from them. The cabinets are too small for awesome bass. If you want insane, deep bass, you'll want a sub. I don't hate Polk, I just think they are focusing on the wrong things lately.

$1800.00

If you have $1800.00 and are comfortable spending that much, I'll go one step further and say come up with another $200.00 and get the a pair of Phil2's for $2000.00.

Otherwise, my suggestion would be a pair of EMP E55Ti's. I auditioned the Audio Monitor RX6 and 8's and ended up with the EMP's. The EMP E55Ti's are about the half the price, are well reviewed, and in my opinion every bit as good as the Audio Monitor speakers. Also, the E55Ti's come with a 5 year warranty and a 30 day money back return policy with free shipping both ways.

Hello,
I totally agree with PSBfan9, the EMP E55Ti's and two ES101i subs which you can get if you hurry for $299 apiece for the first thirty buyers at the EMP site. $1400 delivered with thirty day in house demo and free return shipping for two tower speakers and two subs, hard to beat IMO...
