Signal strength too low?

I ran 3 cat6 cables from my computer room through my attic to my bonus room so I could run my computer on my large LED tv. 2 of the cat6 lines were for an HDMI extension and 1 cat6 was for a usb extension...so I have video and a usb port to hook a keyboard\mouse to. Both of those are working fine. I also ran a bare wire cable (it has a red line and a black line in 1 cable) to run the audio.

Here is the ligical design of what I have done:

The line going from the computer audio card is a 3.5mm jack on 1 side and a 2x 3.5mm jacks at the end. Pretty much just a splitter.

I then have the 3.5mm jack going to the computer speakers. The other side of the splitter has a 3.5mm jack on one end and then 2 bare wires on the other end with banana clips. That connects to the wall plate I installed.

The wall plate has the bare wire into the attic and then to another wall plate in the bonus room.

From that plate the bare wire connection goes into the input on my Integra receiver from bare wire to an RCA connection.

PROBLEM:
When both the computer speakers and and the wall plate connection in the computer room are hooked up the volume gets really low on the computer speakers and in the bonus room, but if I turn the volume ALL THE WAY UP...(Like up to 11) I can hear that the signal is there, just really low.

If I unplug the media room connection the computer speakers go back to normal.

If I hook just the media room speakers and NOT the computer speakers then the audio is still really low in the media room, but can still hear a signal if cranked up.

Im guessing I need a preamp to boost the signal strength? and im guessing I would need to install this at point A marked on the diagram above?
Can anyone verify this for me or steer me in the right direction to get the audio working properly?

If you need\want pictures of the cables or what I have used let me know and I will be more then happy to upload more pictures. 80% of everything was purchased at Monoprice... the rest was pretty much.."Hey ...I can use that cable (splice off some ends and slap some banana clips on it). :)

You do realize that that output on the computer is really designed to drive headpones or one set of amplified computer speakers, don't you? I'm actually surprised you get aything out at hte ends at all.

You need an AMPLIFIER, not just a preamplifier and I have no idea about whatever impedance mismatches you have going on in that conglomeration.

You could setup a small media PC in the media room and network the two computers with the cat6 cable. If the receiver has HDMI you can use that to connect the computer. As you have it setup now you have to constantly go to the office to change your audio if you are playing off the computer.

You could use a streaming device and connect it wirelessly or wired via ethernet to the computer to playback music or video. The new Roku 3 box looks pretty slick.

The full schematic of this has cat6 extensions for video and a usb port to the media room. So I have viedo going to my LED tv, a wireless keyboard and mouse for computer control...just trying to get the audio worked out.

Essentially...SimCity was about to be released and I wanted a bigger monitor for my pc...so what better then the 55inch LED I had in the other room. (Thats how the project started. :D)
