To call the Sierra Sound iN Studio 5.0 speaker system an iPod speaker system would be to miss the point entirely. This is a very well-built, great looking pair of bookshelf speakers that happen to be powered, and also have a built-in iPod dock on top. After living with these speakers in variety of locations around my home and office for several weeks, I found plenty to write about.

That's an s-video output, and it's there to allow someone to output video from a video iPod.

Thanks for the heads up on these! My computer won't link to audioholics.com right now, but I'm looking forward to reading this. These speakers have gotten some good reviews elsewhere, and they seem like a really nice solution for my parents. They could hook them up to their TV (to play TV audio and to run iPod video to the TV), run an Airport Express to it for iTunes, and/or hook up their iPods for tunes and videos. Sure, one of my brothers or I would have to go back home to hook it up, but they seem really nice.

I'm mucking around with my computer audio set-up this weekend (just hooked up my older Yamaha receiver and am powering my Creative computer speakers with it to check it out). These look like a nice alternative for me, too. A simple set-up, indeed.
