Looking to replace my side direct speakers (Ascend 340s) with some dipole speakers. (Possibly the rears too) Budget $400-$600.00 for the pair. Wouldnt mind going used if I can get a better speaker.

Room is 24Lx14Wx8H
Main seating is about 4ft from each side speaker, can really localize the sides now.

Have looked at and researched the following (but do to location, I cannot audition any of them) ....HELP

Emotiva ERD-1
Paradigm ADP 170/390/590
Axiom QX8
Snell SR30
Triad Silvers

Any suggestions? Currently using Pio SC-07 for power and Triad Classic Golds across the front. Have Ascend 170s as rears for now (might keep)

Get Aperion 5DB's (NEW) that are on sale for $499/pair. AWESOME surrounds.

Are you absolutely positive that you want dipoles? How about bipoles? Just curious.

There are a handful of speakers out there that are extremely flexible. While quite expensive, I think of the PSB S2. It can be set in many different configurations. Dipole, bipole, or even 2x monopoles as there are double sets of binding posts (like side channels + rear channels, or maybe even there is a different possibility). Just an FYI . . .

pretty sure about the dipoles....having the ability to go between bi and dipoles wouldn't be a bad option. Think I will keep the rears direct..any thoughts on that? they are about 4-5 feet behind the listening position.

anyone have any experience with the Snell SR30's? They look rather nice and might fit the bill..

Anyone know what would match the best with my fronts?

PSB S2 are a little...a lot out of my price point. Looking to get a pair at most $600...would rather stay under $500 if possible....going used is an option for me, I have had good luck doing that.
