Hey guys, I've just bought myself AKG Y50 headphones. I've been reading that many people uses DAC for better performance of their headphones. Since I'm going to be using these headphones mainly as desktop headphones, plugging them into my pc, I was wondering, should I need to buy DAC for a better performance.
My pc has NVidia high definition sound card.
If I do need to use DAC for better performance, could you guys suggest something cheap, to start with.

Unless you have issues with PC noise creeping in the headphones, I won't bother with external dac.
If you do - then it's a bit tricky - not many cheap and good dac/headphone combo.
Fiio E10k is pretty decent, but it costs almost as much as your phones.
These phones are designed to be used with mobile devices, so you shouldn't need headphone amp.

On top of that, what are the music files you have on the computer? Mp3’s? If so, I highly doubt a pricey DAC will get you much.
