Is there something about the Omnisats you don’t like or are you just curious if the QS speakers are better? I have QS8s but haven’t heard the Omnisats so I can’t give a direct comparison. Since they are both designed to diffuse sound out I can’t say they would be all that different.

Maybe someone will show up who’s heard both and can give you a better answer but if not you could always order a pair of QS speakers for a 30 day demo and ship them back if they’re not worth the upgrade. Here is Axiom’s return policy and estimated shipping costs:

As for QS4 or QS8 I would check out their specs and see which seems to match up best with your Orbs.

Hope this helps. If not at least it bumped your thread ;)

Cheers,

Why not orbs for the surrounds? I use a pair of bookshelf 2 way speakers for my rears, with a pair of Omni Nanosats sitting on top, wired in parallel so as to get the best of both worlds, and it works pretty well.

True, wiring in this manner presents a 4 ohm load to the amp, but since the rears are used sparingly anyway, it’s not an issue.

I was curious since i read all the praise about them. BTW i have Orbs as my back surround that i might be looking to sell for a great deal.

They are perfect in my current setup. I’m using 2 (own 4) in a 5.1 configuration (due to room size) placed 135 degrees back just out from the corners of the room so that the tweeters are parallel to the side and back walls. Just the 2 of them create a seamless side and rear soundstage. A couple friends who have 7.1 systems comment how much better my 5.1 setup sounds to theirs. Now that I’m moving to a larger room I’ll try 7.1 again with both QS8s and M22s as rear speakers to see which works best.

I’ve considered trying the Emotiva ERD-1s just for the hell of it but I’m so happy with the sound I’ve got I just can’t motivate myself to do it.
