Should I Sell My Speakers And Buy Something Else?

I have a pair of KRK VXT 6:

And the KRK 10S Subwoofer:

And a SPL meter and some sucky Auralex acoustic pads.

I bought everything for about $850. Should I sell everything for $1000 and buy other things? I believe in objective audio quality, and that's my aim, but the speaker setup for me is kind of tiring. It's big, complicated, and eats up alot of space, and I feel bad because the speakers aren't in a perfect equilateral triangle, they're not aimed 60 degrees, and I have no room treatment. I hate how I can't listen at night with speakers, and there is always external noise when I can listen. I want to be isolated away from that. Also, I live in a earthquake heavy location and figure it's only a matter of time before they kill my speakers. Do you think I should sell all my equipment and start fresh? What do you recommend? Right now, I'm thinking of just buying

Plugging them straight into my soundcard, and putting the rest away for a rainy day. What do you all think?

Thank you for your time, energy, and input!

BEST WISHES!

The existing system that you have is nice. I do not think parting with it is a good option for your mentioned reasons. With the information that you provided, it sounds to me like you need to experiment with room placement _ or maybe move the system to another room [if either of those are options]. Headphones are great for portable use or in situations where music and room noise might interfere with one another. But, I wouldn't recommend them for the only listening source. I'm not aware of anyone who likes being "isolated" in headphones for hours at at time.
