I have a belkin 4 way surge protector and i paid $60NZ for it three years ago. it sits attached to my tv cabinet so gets no knocking or abuse. i got it for the 75,00 dollar connected equipment warranty, and the belkin name. anyway today i unplugged my avr and it fell apart! it is only held together by clips! i follishly picked it up to press it togther and the input for the aerial fell out and touched my hand.......BANG... my arm went numb. im shocked (literally) that it was so easy to pull apart. ive emaild them so hopefully get a result. vent over

I've stopped buying belkin anything for a similar reason. Their products may work well up front, but their long term quality just isn't there... or at least it hasn't been for me.

Poor craftsmanship seems to be the norm these days for way to many products!

3 year old surge protector? Really?

Come on now, you gotta know that thing is way gone. If you have even remotely dirty power, that protector is probably a glorified dust collector anyway. Time for a new one.:D

That is never good. I myself have never had problems with their products, but certainly will think twice about them now.

My problem with Belkin is that a high-level employee of theirs was discovered to be paying people to write five star reviews of their products on places like Amazon...

Of course the company itself denied any knowledge that this was being done, which is about as believable as anything we hear from Monster Cable lawyers...

if it sits there untouched, then id expect it to last alot longer than 3 years! it just fell apart, no knocking , bumping etc. you would think they would screw it together, the 5 dollar ones i can get are screwed together!! i paid $60!!

yeah im disapointed as i have three small children. my 5 yo knows how to operate the system, and not to touch the power connections but if it fell apart im sure he would touch it. the way it is held together is a pole piece that slips inside a sleeve, and there are 6 of them. they hold on friction alone. even 4 screws would have been vastly better.

I stopped buying Belkin years ago based on their routers & tech support.
