usually when I order something I'm not in a rush and choose the most inexpensive option. Free is always nice. Well, I've been looking for an inexpensive laser printer, wireless, with duplex, that would also have inexpensive toner when the time came to replace the cartridge. I was cool with refurb.
So, two days ago I came across a Brother printer that met my needs for a tad under $60 from NewEgg. I sat on ordering it for a few hours while I did some research to see if people were reporting any problems. That and I wanted to resist the temptation of an impulse buy. I forgot about it for a while then sometime in the late evening of Tuesday, said what the heck, order it.
There were a few options with regards to shipping when checking out, all at various degrees of extra cost depending how quickly I wanted it. I chose the free option and figured it would get here when it got here. Well, the printer arrived Thursday (today) morning. Now an unexpectedly quick delivery when choosing free shipping seems to happen for me quite often whether it's Amazon, regular store, or whatever. Even when I ordered Ceylon Cinnamon from Sri Lanka, that came in less than a week. That got me to thinking, that in many cases, these options for expedited shipping which cost more, sometimes significantly so, are just padding from the place one's ordering from.
What's been your experience along these lines?
