Hi all,

I have been looking all around the internet and have not been able to find an answer to a very simple question.

When using shielded speaker cable, where, if at all, must the shield be connected to?

Thanks,

Speaker cable is not normally shielded.

Is there a reason you have opted for a shielded cable for your speaker connections?

IIRC, the reason it is not required is that the signal levels you will have on a speaker cable dwarf any noise that shielding would normally reject.

Putting that aside, I suppose you could connect the shield at the amp side to a ground connection. There would be no place to conenct it at the speaker, methinks.

EDIT: Guess I have some reading to do! I posted before I saw the link.
