Now that my computer is running smooth, I decided to clean up my room and show my bedroom audio setup. It isn't complete yet (Picking up some Monitors in a few weeks), but it works quite well.

System specifications.

Antec 900
Asus P5Q Pro
E7400 Core2Duo
1 TB WD Black
HD4870 512MB
4gb G.skill PC2-6400
Samsung DVD-RW
LG-DVD
Corsair HX620 PSU
Thermalright AXP-140 (with Noctua NF-P12)
M-Audio Delta 66 soundcard-I/O interface
M-Audio Delta Omni I/O station/Headpone amp
Logitech G5 mouse
Steelseries Merc Stealth keyboard
Sennheiser HD500 Fusion Headphones
Beyer Dynamic DT100 headphones
Samsung T220 22inch LCD

I went down to look at sound cards and monitors today to see what I could setup for mixing at home. Turns out someone returned the Delta 66 and Omni i/o box and they were on sale for 100 bucks. Picked that up, then listened to some powered monitors. KRK caught my eye on the website due to the price and decent review they got. They soudned good, very tame, decent everywhere but didn't stand out as a great speaker. Switched over to a Mackie MR5 and was completely sold. Unfortunately, I need another paycheck before I throw down for those.

They will be mine, however.

$235/pair.

Sens when I game or listen to music. The Beyer's are supposedly a good recording headphone, but they sound like ***. They have good sound isolation though. I'm guessing they will work well for headphone mixes.

How about a Mac Mini? Not the most powerful...but, dang, those things are cool looking.

Great looking set-up, btw! Your monitor puts my "home theater" screen to shame.

Cool man! I noticed the head phones. I would imagine those make for a very immersive gaming experience.

Nothing yet. Still waiting to get monitors and some mics before I record friends.

I need to be able to mix at home if I want to be on the ball in school, so this having this stuff to go with a mixing problem really helps when it comes to understanding the whole process.

Mackies in the Hooouuuusssseeee!

I had to re-arrange my desk a little bit, slightly more crowded, but totally worth it. These speakers have so much damn kick it's not even funny. Bass Response is better then most HTIB subs.

What's the model number on those Brian? I really like the no-nonsense look of Mackies.

MR5. Really impressed with them. Very Neutral, and enough bass not to need a sub in my bedroom. Gotta like 85watts of Bi-amplification per speaker.

He had/has a 900? It has good cooling, but it's cable management blows. When I have a spare 200 I'm picking up a Coolermaster ATCS 840.

yeah, he does, prolly doesn't help that the DVD burner that he has in it is white :D
the thing is loud as hell when the fans are on high that when his computer was turned off (which was like 4 times over the course of the school year), it felt so awkwardly quiet.
