Syfy finally realized that these movies are supposed to be fun, nothing else. they threw away any pretense at making a "serious" movie and concentrated on cheezy SFX, as many cheap tongue in check laughs as possible, and injecting as many cameos as possible, not unlike nuts in a fruit cake.
It was a blast to watch. Grab some Cheetos and enjoy with the whole family.
