Hello, I have posted on here previously about calibrating the parametric eq on my sound blaster audigy for my computer for this set of klipsch promedia 2.1 speakers, and as i finally got a decent mic (nady sp-5) I was wondering if this would be good enough to calibrate the eq with, and also i was wondering what kind of test tone i should use, and what sort of volume the system should be at. I assume that the mic would be placed at listening position, but how would i properly calibrate the volume of the microphone to assure it is optimal, should i just open up some recording software and make sure it doesnt top out the bar?

By the way, if any of you remember me posting before about this, i think it is important to point out that i have since moved and the issues with some tones being muted and some tones being exagerated on this subwoofer have since been resolved since the sub is now corner loaded and in a larger room. The sattelites are on either side of my monitor, which is maybe 2 feet or so. As long as you are in front of the monitor, the imaging is decent. Anyways, let me know.

Don't do that. If you're not happy with the sound of your speakers, buy better speakers. And if you have a probem caused by room's acoustics (which is always the case anyway), fix the room. EQ is a last resort that is useful only for reducing peaks at very low frequencies.

ok, i suppose i will just get the parts to make the new crossovers, as i have heard it improves the sound greatly.
