Hello chaps.

I am new to world of home cinema setup so please excuse my ignorance.
I have just purchased a denon 1906 amp, panasonic DVD recorder and a set of Elac speakers.

My query is I would like to remove the attached speakers on my plasma and direct all sound to the amp to come through the elac speakers.

How do I ensure that sound from my NTL(cable) box, which is currently connected to the dvd and then to the plasma via Scart comes from my 5 Elac speakers?

I will be connecting my dvd recorder to the plasma using component video cable and to the amp using Toslink optical cable.

Any help will be appreaciated.

novice advice

everything you did is right, the difference in sound quality you experience is because everything from cable only realy outputs in two-channels so dont expect the same sound quality to be emitted from your elac speakers when using a cable connection in comparo to a dvd which is capable of 6.1 channel output
