Good morning all,
I am doing my own home theater in a new home. I ran a traditional 5.1 set up before but my new home will not allow for rear channels so I opted for bookshelf’s.
I have a Yamaha RX-V681 receiver, Polk CS20 center channel, Polk Rita RTI-A3 bookshelf’s,
and Klipsch R10SW subwoofer.
What is a good receiver setting to get stereo sound from the bookshelf’s while incorporating the center channel and subwoofer?

Hi!

I think the only choice is to use surround sound decoding, I don't know how else you would use the center channel.

Use the sound mode "stereo" for using the left/right and sub; use a surround mode when you want to use the center as well. Or just use the surround mode for everything.

I had a technics receiver, mid 90's, that had a few modes that would only use the front 3. I assume that these days we dont see that becauss any surround setting will do the same as long as the surrounds are set to 'none' or 'off'. I remember being able to utilize the center as 'wide' in a 3.1 configuration.
