Setting up the Paradigm Ultracube 10, also BIC F-12

So, here is the situation.
Being a student on a budget, I like to get good things, but also inexpensive things. My current audio setup is Pioneer PL530 / Playstation One -> Pioneer SX780 -> Polk RTi-A1. I finally decided to get a subwoofer, figured the BIC F-12 was the best option in my price range, and clicked the 'checkout' button.
Three days later, I was at my grandparents' house, and my grandpa showed me his old subwoofer and said I could have it (grandma didn't like being able to hear the bass all through the house). Lo and behold, the subwoofer was a Paradigm Ultracube 10.

So, here is my dilemma. Is the Ultracube going to be better in my stereo setup (mostly rock music) than the F-12? (Strictly off of price, I wanna say yes, but I figured I'd ask.)
And, if that is the case, how does one go about hooking the Ultracube up to my SX780? The Ultracube only has a low-level input, and the SX780 has no subwoofer out.

Thank you guys for the help. I can provide info about the room if needed, but I figured it was unneeded for my question.
