Need some help. We live in Mexico and have a lot of speakers. In the house we have 3 different zones, rooms, and outside 3. A total of 6. Sometimes we would like music in all the areas. I have a TV, DVD, IPOD and SIRIUS radio all to hook up. I have a panasonic amplifier that is going out. Now need to replace it and want to have something to handle all the zones and speakers. Was told we need a receiver..... will that allow me to put all devices and speakers without getting too hot and shutting down? That is the problem with the current machine.

Thanks for any advice.

In addition to an audio/video receiver (AVR) you need an impedance matching speaker distribution device or switch. There are a lot of different manufacturers and methods used -- Google it. The ATON DLA system is pretty slick and relatively inexpensive for what it does.
