what are your towers? (brand/model)
what are their frequency response?

anyway, Im leaning on suggesting you set them to small. even if your towers are capable of handling a full range frequency, your receiver may not be able to give them enough power.

I am only aware of the HZ crossover setting ... people use either 80hz or 60hz, whichever sounds better to you.

If you have a sub, all speakers should be set to small. This will make life easier for the receiver and you will not run into room response issues arising from having bass drivers in different locations.

Set the cross over frequency same for all speakers, around 10-15Hz higher than the lower 3dB point of the front speaker's frequency response. So if your mains have FR 40-20,000Hz (+- 3dB) set the cross over at 50-55Hz for all speakers (that was just an example. Most people feel that 70-80Hz is the optimal setting). THX specs mandate setting it at 80Hz, but if you dont have THX speakers, sub and dont use THX setting on the processor, it does not matter.

Hope this helps

i'm pretty sure they should be at the same height for a home theatre setup, but higher than the front three. for music, i've heard that they should be slightly higher than the front ones, but not mounted near the ceiling.
