Just got my new receiver and am having some issues setting it up. Hoping someone here could help out before I try to call help desk Monday night when I get home.

I know my speakers work - have tried them out with another system. I have a pair of Klipsch KG4WO speakers that I want to connect to the receiver. No other speakers, subwoofer, or anything else to connect. I've tried connecting the speakers to the center, surround, or front setups but with no success. I've tried double-checking all setup options through the menu and haven't found anything that I've disabled or muted or something. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Well you definitely want to connect them to the front left and right channels. What are you trying to play through the receiver?

I want to connect my TV, DVD and a CD player.
You have an excelent reciever. Read the user manual very carefully, then hook up your speakers in the front left and right terminals and follow the operating manual.
Hook Cd palyer in CD input and DVD palyer in DVD input.

Select any of these in the remote. This reciever will show low numbers for high volumes and high numbers for low volumes.

Hello, I also just bought the Pioneer VSX-520-K. For now, I am only interested in connecting a turntable to listen to my vinyl record collection. Unfortunately I am already confused as to where I should connect my turntable cable. I have a Sony PS-LX300USB with a single cable ending in the red and white plugs. Since the back of my Pioneer receiver doesn't indicate a clear "phono" or "aux in" jack, I'm a bit unclear which jack is the correct place to plug in to. It has been many years since I owned a turntable and receiver, and things have sure changed! Thank you for any help you can provide.

pioneer vsx 520 remote issues

Can anyone tell me where to find instructions on how to make this included remote control other components? It has selector buttons for other things but haven't been able to find how to enter the codes for the other components....

Thanks

Also, if I have a component that doesn't have HDMI outputs, does that meant that I have to use the same method of input as the output? Seems kind of dumb in that now I'll have to switch the input on the TV every time I want to switch the source...my other pioneer will take whatever I put into it and output it through the HDMI to the tv, so I only switch in the Pioneer, not the TV.

Ok nevermind on this question, I figured I could just plug into the CDR/Tape jacks and I get sound so I guess that's it.
