Setting up dual subs and understanding the place for bass part I article

I have dual MFW-15's. I have been re-arranging where they will go for days. My options for placing them are stacking in the one corner or opposite corners.

In looking at the article regarding the place for bass, it seems by having them stacked in the corner it is really dropping off around 50hz or so. Would I be better to set my crossover at 50hz (my speakers are rocket 850's)?

Of my two options, it seems I will have my most even response by placing the subs in opposite corners. However, do you think if since the one will not be actually in the opposite corner and rather up the side of the opposite corner it will nullify this more even response?

Also, if I have them in the opposite corners should the phasing be opposite each other (one at 180 and one at 0)? When stacked in the corner, I have them both at 0. I have the phasing opposite when stacked in the corner and it seems to nullify each other.

Here is what I know, we were listening to The Police Certifiable Bluray last evening and when playing "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" it came alive when the Bass Drum starts at the beginning with the subs stacked in one corner. However, the bass guitar seemed really loud and took over the song once Sting kicked it in. I am assuming because the bass drum is in the Hz range where it starts to drop off and the bass guitar is in the Hz range where the spl is really high (according to the charts on the place for bass article). Therefore, making the bass drum sound great but the bass guitar overpowering.

Any thoughts?

This is totally simple acoustics. Placing both subs together will typically increase the db of the sound. If the sub is naturally strong at a particular frequency then adding the same sub next to it will just amplify that natural frequency.

Placing the sub across the room will inherently allow both subs to flatten out the overall room response.

I suggest you place dual subs at the L-R channels if possible.
