setting up DAC-1 with sub and bookshelfs

i'm looking at getting the Benchmark dac-1 to improve the redbook performance of my denon 2200(which i'll use as a transport)

problem is i'm also about to get a sub (either from hsu, svs, velodyne or rel) and dont know how best to set it up.

i have dynaudio 52's .

what i'm wondering is, will i get improvements by using some form of base management and crossing the dynes over at 60-80hz, or should i run them full-range and have the sub take over at 50(or 60? the speakers go down to 52hz)

if its best to use base management, would it mean running the DAC to the sub and then a high pass from the sub to the speakers? does this degrade the signal any, and if so which brand of subwoofer would be best suited for this type of setup?

or can i split the signal at the DAC and run it to the speakers full range and the sub? (i'll use the DAC as preamp so no chance of a spare set or pre-outs)

how would you set arrange this system?

thanks for any help
