I am hooking up a progresive scan Phillip dvd player to my Toshiba plasma tv. I have all the cables where they need to be. I am getting a crystal clear picture BUT, it is a blue tint. Blue is the only color on the tv. I had a sony non progresive scan dvd player on before that worked fine with the same hook up. I have it hooked up through component video out/in. I have sound, blue picture. What am I doing wrong or what setting am I missing?

Thanks W

Even Prog scan DVD players many times default to interlaced output. Check to see that it is set for Progressive scan. It may be a switch on the back of the unit marked P/I or it also may be in the player's menu under the picture/ video section.
Another cause is having the component cables plugged in to the wrong places.

It could also be that the TV does not accept progressive input. This may be the case if the TV is relatively old. Try putting the DVD player in interlace mode and see it that works. This will also tell you if the cables are plugged in correctly.

He's using a plasma tv so it will accept progressive scan. I agree with nomo. Make sure you have progressive scan enabled on your player
