Alright this does have to do with a 360 i just need help and don't feel like spending 200 on Geek Squad for something that i can possibly get free help with. But i just bought a brand new home theater set up. I got a nice 50" Pioneer plasma tv with 7 inputs (four of which are HDMI). Along with the tv i bought a BLU-RAY player as well as an HD-DVD player. I also have direcTv hd and a brand new surround system (it's not a bad system, being that i got the logitech harmony remote that controlls all the devices).

Anywyas, my question is... being that i am going to be buying a 360 i have a problem. The surround sound system is where all the disc players go through as well as the DirecTv. The SSS though only has 3 HDMI inputs in the back and 1 out. I currently have all the components hooked up, but in the next week or so i am going to be getting a 360. I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me out, in how to set up my inputs/outputs. Would i need an HDMI switch or would i be able to get everything the way i have it??

What receiver do you have? It seems to be a decent receiver so odds are it will have HDMI upconversion so just hook up your 360 through component to the receiver with optical cable as well and odds are it will take that component signal and pass it through the single hdmi that is going to the TV. 360 can do 1080p through component so you won't have a problem. But to be safe tell me what exact receiver you have so I can verify.

You could also run straight from your 360 to the TV into another of the 3 remaining/available HDMI inputs and audio from the 360 to your receiver. The primary advantage of running all your source components through your receiver is having a single HDMI cable running from your receiver to your TV for reduced cable clutter.

Exactly. Video from the 360 to the TV via HDMI. Audio from the 360 to the receiver. Run digital out to the receiver to get surround on the disks that offer it.
