set sub levels per source?

the level i play my subs at is much different for 2 channel stereo listening then it is for HT surround movies. is it possible with my denon 4311 to set the sub level to be lower for stereo and higher for multichannel and have the settings stick when i switch between the two? or do i need to just manually crank up the sub levels when listening to movies and then turn it back down for stereo?

I believe that it will do what you want it to - check out page 66 of your owner's manual.

I can (and do) do that with my ancient Denon 2802 so it's entirely possible yours will allow it, too. As Adam suggests, check your manual and have your remote handy.
