I recently purchased a Sharp LC-37GD6U. Magazine reviews mentioned that for this flat panel LCD HDTV, the grey scale should be calibrated to achieve 6500 K across the range from dark to bright images. I tried to get this done by a local technition approved by ISF, but he does not have access to a service manual to get the service codes needed to do the work. I have tried unsuccessfully to purchase a service manual from Sharp. The local Sharp service shop does not do the calibrations, and won't get me the information. They say that Sharp does not even print service manuals, and all the technical information is now obtained over the internet.
Can someone help me? How I get the information needed to calibrate my tv? I would appreciate your comments.
