Serious question about tweeter replacement.

As you all know by now that the tweeters on my Yamaha Soavo-1 burned. I havent order new set yet. I was just thinking if this is possible by replacing the original tweeters with the NS-1000 tweeters. Will this works or just stupid? Thank you..

For one those are pretty new if memory serves.I would call Yamaha and demand they install new tweeters for you.Unless of course I totally missed another thread and there is a reason they blew..........still I would use the tweeters that were originally in them as there are many variables that could be detramental to your crossovers with the wrong tweeter...

Tweeters have wide range,seems plausible you could find a decent match,yes x/over is set too match the particuler tweeter!
I have a pair of 20/20 near field monitors 1-8" x a 1" softdome tweeter from partsexpress and it sounded great after replacing it with a titainium tweeter,yes its a no no tinkering, to some its debotchery or just wrong,but you cant even play those at all right?????

Those are fine spkrs though,the company would be helpful i hope first!
PULL THAT tweeter too get some info i guess!

I agree with Jamie's above post; get Yamaha to replace them with the same original tweeters. Your speakers are brand new, and high end ones from Yamaha; so they should replace them for free, because your speakers come with a full 5-year warranty.

Did you check if you can get the existing tweeters repaired. There are companies that fix voice coils.

If you launched your tweeters, you were pushing the amp into clipping, which means that you either EQ'd it and tried to make it louder with that or you just don't have a system that does what you need. An amp running in its normal range will not launch those tweeters. Using the NS-1000 tweeters won't necessarily work.Well, it'll work but it may not sound right.

I am sure yamaha is going to replace them for free. They are a good company with good service. B&W replaced my tweeters 2 years after warranty expired, so you should be OK.

Yeah, you are right. Im running an EQ with the Yamaha MX-1. Do u suggest that I should not running an EQ with the MX-1? Because I know the MX-1 does its job of pushing the Soavos without any problem. Or I should back down on the Highs from the EQ. BTW, Im just using the EQ-70 not too long ago. Oh, I forgot, the reason my tweeters blew were because of karaoke-ing, there was echoing and then nothing came out from the tweeters. I dont think playing music will caused the tweeters to blow with an EQ or not. Just dont use the Soavo for live broadcasting i.e. Karaoke. Thanks
