was wondering if running seperate amps for left and right speakers would be any help with load on receiver. i have an onkyo rz830 and several H&K pa2100 signature series amps. receiver is rated 120w per channel (2 driven) and amps are 65w stereo, 130 mono bridged. how would you guys run amps or just let receiver run all 9 channels and use 1 amp for extra heights. running SVS prime center and bookshelf speakers for front and SVS sats for surround. thanks

I would use the receiver for the L, C, R and the less power amps for the surrounds.

If you have 4 of them, and if your left and right are truly 8 ohm speakers, then you can also try bridging them to get 130 W. Don't do it for 4 ohm speakers.

All else being equal, the center speaker typically draw more average power than the left or right, and the surrounds draw much less.

they are 8 ohm speakers. wouldn't i just use one amp for each speaker left and right bridged? i do have 4 identical amps. also use one amp for center as well bridged?

Yes, one each for the left, right and center, the 4th for the surround left and right.

You should find out how much power you really need first. If you only need 30 to 50 w per channel, then there is no need to bridge any of the PA2100.
