Sennheiser RS175/195 transmitters

I think the RF transmitters of Sennheiser's RS 175 and RS195 have optical inputs in addition to the more conventional analog jacks.

If this is the case, if the optical input of the transmitter is plugged into the optical out of a 4K blu-ray player or Sky Q box in a system where a soundbar is the main audio 'manager', will the audio then come directly into the headphones bypassing the soundbar while one or the other device is in operation?

An update to this suggested by an AV engineer but he was not certain it would work. His suggestion was to take optical cables out of the optical outs of the TV, blu-Ray player and sky box (all otherwise unused) and plug them into a CYP or similar 4-in-1 optical switch. Then plug the optical feed from the headphone transmitter into the switch’s optical out. Whenever I need to use the headphone, switch the transmitter on and manually mute the soundbar
