Hello All,

Ok, I have been away from the forum scene for about 3 years, and I am looking for some help. Due to a room re-design I no longer have room for my loved SVS subs (Ultra PB13 and NSD12/plus2). not sure if I am selling or mothballing for later use...depends on what I could sell them for.

I am looking for the best sub I can get in a small package...about half the size of the PB13 would be the most I can get away with. (NWAF).

Open to any brands...and budget is 2K max

I already have a Velodyne SMS1 controller and I will be keeping that to control the new sub and for expansion someday when we move into a bigger home and build a dedicated HT room (and back to my SVS 's)

current room size...16x23 with two open area's heading upstair then into kitchen...I used both SVS's at about 30-40% volume and that was where I was happiest. movies only...not used for music much at all

thank you all

Well, a cylinder Ultra might work, in terms of footprint. It will just be TALL now :) I don't think you are going to achieve Ultra + Plus/2 performance with a sub that is about half the size IMO. Are we talking replacing both with a single sub or duals again?

I know its a tall order....but I dont expect the same performance...just the best performance I can get in the smallest package...Velodyne Minivee size would be ideal...but I could go 12" cubed or so

the cylinder option would not pass the WAF...

A rythmik F12 has the dimensions:

15-3/4"(W) x 15-3/4" (H )x 17"(D)

Buy two. It's not quite as small as you seem to want but it's one of the best subs out there.

An alternative would be this DIY sub if you're interested.

Rythmik has the dual 15 that is a stacked design, so that would give it a small-ish footprint also, but still may not pass WAF.

You might look into the sealed SVSs also, they are a lot smaller, but you will probably need 2 also. They look like the Ultra, so they may pass WAF :) There's an SB-12NSD and a replacement for the SB-12 Plus coming next year according to the site:
