Selecting the right equipment.....

I have the following equipment so far in building my home theatre setup:

Denon AV 2805 Receiver
Sony DVD Recorder & VHS Combo Player RDR-VX500
Cox DVR
Panasonic TH-50PHD8UK Monitor or Panasonic TH-50PX500U TV
Energy Take FPS Center Channel Speaker
Energy S10.3 Sub-woofer

I believe I need to get some in-ceiling front and rear speakers to match the speakers above as well as some sort of surge suppressor/power center. Any thoughts or suggestions? Any thing else I should look at? Since my Denon supports 7.1, should I look into that speaker setup instead of 5.1? I mostly will use this for home theatre viewing, but with some audio only listening. Thanks

hmm...well 5.1 vs 7.1 is going to depend on room. So details on the room is going to be a factor to answer that question.

I just did a pre-wire for a whole 5.1 system in the ceiling. (Except Sub) The WAF factor for inceiling speakers are very good. They really like the fact that they can not see the speakers. Just make sure that you get speakers that you can at least aim the tweeter. Niles makes an in ceiling speaker that you can aim the whole thing. But over all they are very smooth, and sound good as well.

Is this house finished? Single story or 2? Can you get to the attic if it is a single story that is finished? All these questions play a huge part in answering your questions.

Can you get the rest of the Energy system? Like book shelf or sat speakers, or do you have to go in ceiling?

I would stick with "in-walls" for the fronts preferably on either side of the t.v.

The room is fairly large and the house is finished. the room opens up to the right when looking at the TV into a eating nook area. I have only a small nook area that is 60" wide for my equipment, so I was thinking in-ceiling speakers would give me more width than trying to fit Sat speakers into a cabinet
