I saw this one Friday. If you're in the mood for a Disney-styled feel-good heart-warmer, Secretariat might work. It's a shame because everything about the look and feel was pretty good, but it was so predictable and full of "family-friendly" platitudes that I felt like I had to scrape the syrup off when it was done.
This wouldn't have annoyed me so much but the writers chose to ignore some major aspects of her life in order to fit the "happy home-maker rises up from the kitchen" to win the Triple Crown ordained plot. Most notably, the film ignores the fact her horse Riva Ridge won the Derby and the Belmont the year before, so she was hardly a novice.
I order to keep the family credentials, there's no language, no sex, and no violence except for heavy breathing by horses. This flick is quite miss-able.
