What would any of you suggest for a second system for the house. I have a Yamaha 4600 receiver in the main room, but I'd like to do simple surround in the back room as well. What do you suggest?

Are you asking about receivers or speaker packages? Budget?

I'm looking for receiver and speaker packages. I have a second quality dvd player and may move to bluray or hd dvd when the choice becomes clearer.

Medium sized room - open architecture. No hi def there yet; but probably in the future. Somewhat tight budget - but want the expandability of good quality if possible.

Need a DOLLAR value for the budget....so we know if we're talking HTiB or if it will be a pieced together system. The difference between a $500 and $1500 system is pretty significant.

I could go 1000 to 1500 if the difference was very great. No chance on going higher

Two sets....each great value at there respective prices....

** Hsu Research Ventriliquist with the VTF2-MK2 with a Yamaha RX-V559 for around US$1K plus cables, interconnects etc...

** SVS package with the Yamaha RX-V659 for probably around US$1.5K....I would get the 7.1 (its only a little more) with the sub upgrade and outside of a new receiver....look for a 'last months model' receiver with ~ 120W per channel....

Just my two cents....
