Can anyone explain what the difference between these 2 types of speakers is? Does it make a difference when choosing speakers?
I was reading some threads and read one post that mentioned that vented will not go as "low" as sealed (it could have been the other way around..)
I am trying to pick between Av123's x-ls or x-cs for mains and was reading one is "vented" vs the other one is "sealed".... just trying to figure out what they are talking about...
Thanx!

They are referring to the design of the speaker enclosure. Vented enclosures can increase output, but do suffer from the risk of port noise at certain frequencies (and only at high output levels). Sealed boxes are just that, sealed. However, this design results in lower output (for a similar design). In this case there isn't any real reason to go for one or the other, just go for whichever suits you.
