Sealed sub with sealed speakers?

I read in an NHT forum that the best way to complement the Classic series of sealed speakers would be to get a sealed sub.

What are the pros and cons of this idea??

Its uncessary.

A well designed sub will sound good no matter what the orientation of the enclosure: sealed, vented, PR, bandpass etc.

A sealed sub will either be:

1) Huge and play low
2) Small and not play low

They SHOULD be very musical, but again, you can get that with any well designed sub.

It also depends upon what wether you're using the the sub do lot of HT LFE or not. Some prefer vented designs for HT because of the increased LF response they can provide. A sealed design will work well for music (less demanding on LF). Of course you can always equilze a sealed design to acheive flat LF response but that would require more amp power.
