SD and HD feeds. Best source?

I have to say, I am not too happy with Directv HD and the bad quality of it's SD feeds. Some shows look soooo bad. Our local Fox and some Disney channels have to be the worse for picture quality. It's like that transparent filmy look you see on a hot road. Is this just due to bad feeds on part of Directv? My Plasma is new and hooked up via HDMI to the newer H20 sat box. Are there other providers with better quality feeds?

I think you may have a bad installation. I have Dish HD, and it's absolutely gorgeous, but friends with DirectTV have what I consider equally good PQ. I'd sure look into having the installers correcting your connections or equipment.
