My Dad just bought the Epson 8350 for his soon-to-be home theater and i looking for a fixed-frame screen, circa 100"-106". Does anyone have a recommendation as far as a screen brand/material that pairs up well with that PJ? He'll have reasonably good light control, but will likely have at least a little ambient light coming from a stairwell. His basement is relatively narrow, so the seating will pretty much just have a head-on viewing angle. His price point is probably sub-$1200, so high end Stewarts and whatnot are probably out of the picture (pun intended ;))

I personally use the Da-Lite High Contrast Cinema Vision with my older Optoma HD72, but my theater area is used often for entertaining and such, so I wanted a grey screen that worked well with party-level lighting and hadgood wide-angle viewing, but I am not sure that's the optimal solution in his case.

I was going to suggest the DaLite w/HCCV material, just like you have. If the room is properly controlled with lighting (it is not) then a white minimal gain screen is ideal, but since you don't have it, a minimal gain grey screen will be the best option for a fixed frame screen or motorized (tab-tensioned!) screen.
