Hey guys I have a serious problem with my tv/HTPC. I moved my pc to the den today and everything is working fine except for on game. Rome total war, as soon as I boot up the game the screen starts flickering like mad and there is a permanent ghosting of the mouse cursor and whatever else that was on the screen previously. I have tried every resolution setting in the video options menu and have the latest drivers for my GPU. I'm just plain stumped!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

Oh ea and I have heard of some text enhancing sofware for large tv's, the text is kinda blurry. Any experience or ideas would be appreciated.

krzywica,

I assume ny tyring every resolution, yo also mean that you have tried different refresh rates for the adapter as well. If not, you may want to try this. Did the game work on the unit before you moved it?

I did'nt move, but simply moved my pc from my bedroom 19" crt to my 65" crt HDTV. And yes I had to change a few things, like screen resolution and refresh rates.

My desktop works fine as well as all other games, counter strike source, half life 2, and battle field 2. It just goes nuts with Rome Total War (my favorite game). And I was so excited about seeing Athens get torn to shreds in HD!!!!!!!!!!!

Also I was'nt aware you could change refresh rates while in game.

.

Well, if this issue is with one source disc, then maybe that game has something different in it, not your setup?

I would try reloading the game with the new display hooked up to the PC.
What OS are you using?
You may also want to visit the software mfg's website (for the game) to see if they support your display.

You just never know with software and compatibility.
