I am looking to buy a tab tensioned screen that can be installed into the ceiling, any recomendations. Any advice on size and projector type would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Draper, Stewart, and DaLite all make screens which can do this and are designed for this. I use a Draper Ultimate Access V screen, which uses two trap doors to fully hide the screen when it is retracted. I like it a lot.

Size is going to be dependent on your viewing distance and the actual room size to house the screen.

For a projector, it depends on your budget, but the Epson 8500UB and the Panasonic AE4000U are class leaders right now.

Hi,

the room size would be about 7m by 7m and viewing distance would be about 4m, any recommendations.

Cheers

At about 12' viewing you would typically go for about a 110" diagonal screen to recreate the 'center of the theater' feel.

So, that's the size recommendation.

The screen material will depend on the light control and PAINT COLOR and CARPET COLOR of the room. As is the case with all home theaters the darker the better. DaLite has a nice surface called High Contrast Cinema Vision which is a positive gain grey material that looks really nice.
