Do any of you get the Wilson Audio Newsletter? Their latest was a rather poignant commentary on Genelec speakers. You should try to get a copy of the dialogue if you can.

I just checked it out on the Wilson Website. Yes, they do have a point about the quality of their 12" 400 watt sub, but then again, let's compare price points. I would guarantee the Wilson costs WAAAAAAAY more.

it does, its a big price difference, but I am not a fan of companies that don't give true ratings for their units. Wilson is known for high quality components, it doesn't matter if you like them or not, but they are brutally honest about their speakers, except when you ask them what the cabinet is made of HA!

Are you saying "Wow" as in "I can't believe they had the balls to rip on Genelec", or are you saying "Wow their sub kicks arse"?

I mean Wow, I can't believe they ripped another manufacturer like that. Could it be they were ticked because The Genelec HTS6 kicked the Watchdog Puppy's butt in Keith Yates Way Down Deep part II review last year? Hmmm. Very interesting. I love it!!

Yeah, it is pretty pathetic. I must admit, their sub's innards ARE really impressive. But then one must think, why are Genelecs so popular in studios? They can't be making crap speakers and subs if so many places are using their products.

Exactly my sentiments. They made ther point though-their subs are very well built.

Genelec studio speakers are among the very best I've heard. Admittedly, I'm not what you'd call well heeled in the art of the listening test but you gotta think theres a reason why the chose Genelec to slice-up like that...
Wilson A+ for making a subwoofer with a lot of cool looking parts D+ for Citizenship- doesn't play well with others...
