I own a Panasonic PT-AX100U unit and watch mostly Hidef and standard DVD (Lexicon unit) while the format wars finally finished the fight last week, at any rate the one thing I dont know much about in the whole HT game is scalers so my question is this.......
Am I correct to think a Scaler may improve standard res (480I) content? I run Comp cables from TW Pioneer Hi Def box (HDMI didnt look any better and first one I bought went bad so I just run Comp video). I dont watch a heck of alot of 480I programs but I would like to enjoy them more if I can, I run video thru Rotel RSP 1068 because of too many items and not enough jacks on Projector. I am happy with HiDef and 480P DVD so if I could get the basic broadcast signals improved that would be great. One last question is would standard def material look better if I ran those into S-Video?
Is there a budget solution for my concerns?, being on fixed income and not a huge standard def user I cant justify much money for a remedy but am all the same curious about learning scalers and thank members for their time
