I just bought the Samsung HLP5063WX 50" DLP today. I got it for $3500 including 4-year warranty and tax. Good deal, IMO. It's installed and I've got my PC running through the DVI connection and my Xbox via the component. The Roadrunner HD Cable boxes arrive tomorrow. :D

Next up, Yamaha audio toys!

The picture looks great, BTW. If you have any questions, please ask!

OK, TimeWarner gave me the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250HD for my HD cable pack and every channel I view has two sets of slowly moving lines that roll up the screen. I can't say I'm impressed with the quality of the HD signals coming over the line. The picture is PERFECTION with Xbox, movies, and my PC, but just not with this cable box. I think the decoder in it is either bad or just really sucks...

Anyone have this box?

Sounds like you have a 60Hz ground loop in the video. You may need a video cable groung isolation device at the TV.

Would a powerstrip with a cable in/out solve it? Or are we talking some sort of giant iron clasp?

I am not sure a power strip has ground isolation for cable TV that goes through it.
Radio Shack used to sell a Cable TV ground isolator, nothing more than two coils of the right design to transfer the signal but isolates the ground.
I am pretty sure that is your problem.
What you may try if you have left over two 75 Ohm to 300 Ohm balum that comes with receivers to convert antenna balancing. You would connect the two 300 Ohm ends and you end up with 2 75 Ohm ends that will isolate for you.

If the traveling bar is on all the channels,
try to bypass the converter box. If that clears the picture fron the hum bar, get rid of the cable box it has a problem, otherwise call your cable company.

Not so much. With shipping charges and the lack of any service plan, it's not that great of a deal. Either way, I think I'm going to return it. As I posted in another thread, there are some blemishes on the screen that can't be removed and sadly appear to afflict all Samsung DLPs... :(
