We saw Eric Clapton last night May 22nd. at the PNC bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ. All with fifteenth row seats; I've never sat that close before, and with binoculars it looked like we were five feet away.
We met friends, and tailgated for a few hours before. I remembered to bring everything, and even thought I had the camera. But no, it was left safe and sound on the kitchen counter. (so I wouldn't forget it)
I really wanted to have pictures to post.
The show was great! Clapton plays with little, or no effort. I also noticed he plays with his eyes closed, about 80% of the time, and really looks like he's into it.
Calmly playing, like it was no big deal.
Through the binoculars I could see the brand names of the guitars. Most of the night he used a silver metallic Stratocaster. For Motherless Child he used an acoustic 12 string.
It was a really good show, and the time flew by.
I worked here, at the Art Center, as one of the house electricians for six years; until, my boss insisted we were too busy to be on call there.
Six years of back stage passes, I'll never forget.

I've seen Clapton in the past and he has always has had that calm, laconic demeanor. Not into massive sweating, eccentric body language or grimaces, he looks like it's easy and enjoyable.
