Saw 2 comes out today, and I'm quite excited to see it since I missed it in the theaters. Was there lots of surround sound action, and intesity? Does anyone know what audio format this will be? I know the first one is in DTS-ES, will Saw 2 be in DTS-ES as well?

Looks like it's DD 5.1 EX, not DTS.

I haven't heard anything good about Saw II. I liked the first one, though.

oh well, at least it's 5.1 EX. I have heard good things from some people about Saw II.

I'm addicted to "SAW" I don't know what it is; the gore, the traps, the suspence...... ah whatever. I'm getting ready to watch it soon... can't wait. "Oh yes, there will be blood. (physcotic laugh)":D

Just watched it, thought it was pretty good not as good as the first though. I can't wait for the next.

Only DD EX I'm pretty dissapointed with that the first had excellent surround sound while this one seemed to lack. I'm tired of sequels that are coming out without DTS when the first had it (Transporter 1 DTS 2 no DTS). Whats the deal is it more exspensive or is it because it takes up more room and they would rather cram more features that no one watches on the DVD? I will be pretty pissed when it comes out with a uncut version with DTS.

Howie, that is the special features for SAW 1, not the second. Number 2 doesn't have DTS. :)

Yeah it sucks, I watched Saw 1 last night and I was like damn I forgot how good the surround sound and bass was in this flick then I put Saw II in tonight and was really dissapointed with the ss and bass but the movie was still good but DTS would have bumped it up a notch. Another flick I remember that kicks *** is Resident Evil but the second doesn't have DTS too.

Lol, I didn't even notice... There is a typo then, because it is 6.1 DTS ES on the first movie. That is so weird that I didn't see that! Maybe it is just because I knew it was DTS so that is what I saw, or, maybe I'm just insane. Both are certainly plausible explanations. :D

no sure if it matters but that was copied off the "uncut" version from the link on the saw 2 website that takes you to Amazon.

Just got done watching it, and I thought it was excellent! It is in 5.1 EX, but my auto detect showed it as Dolby PL IIx not Dolby Digital EX, either way, it sounded good, and I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.

You probably didnt change the audio setting on the DVD when you watched it! :(

Yes, I did, but I've had the same problem before with discs that are 5.1 ex flagging on my receiver as being P LIIx, but I manually switched it to EX/ES. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have a 7.1 setup instead of a 6.1 setup?

After having been burned by buying the first release of the DVD of the first movie, I find I'm waiting for the inevitable (?) "uncut" DVD of the second movie to be released within a few (?) months. Anyone else besides me torturing themselves by waiting?

cheers,

I still haven't been able to find the uncut version of the first Saw, and since the runtimes are the same, I don't even know what the difference in content is.

I've seen it around, but it hasn't fallen in price yet. I'm sure the uncut version is just the substitution of a few shots that are exactly the same length. Nothing necessarily added. Still, it has a few extras that look pretty shiny. And I want it!

cheers,
supervij
