If you want to snag Oppo's BDP-83 player for a little less than the 499 msrp, take advantage of Amazon's pay phrase system, which pays you back 5% for purchases from Amazon and 10% for purchases from certain other merchants like buy.com and jr.com.

5% of the Oppo is 25 bucks or so. Tack on free shipping, no sales tax, and whatever percentage cash back your credit card pays, and it may be worth your while.

Where does it say that you get a discount by using the pay phrase? I don't see any verbage on a 5% discount on Amazon's site.

My Oppo arrived today. You know, even the packaging says quality. I get the same feeling when I open the packaging for Apple computers. These companies are similar in a number of ways - market-leading technical quality, elegant design and of course, everything is designed to create a positive customer experience. All the better, when you can get a deal, right?
