Sansui QR-1500 Distorted Sound

I got this a year ago and it worked fine. Now it seems like somthing is blown. I don't have any bass and the highs sound like a tin can. I replace the fuses because i thought they might be going out since they look like the OEM ones. Still no change. Any help is needed. Also I do have the owners/service maunal.

Did you do anything with your equipment between when it sounded fine and when it didn't (such as connect different speakers, move the receiver around, and such)?

Sorry for the delay. But i did not change anything, I just turned it on so i could have some sound for my PS2.

Is this poor performance on all channels, or just one? If it is all, then the power supply has a serious fault and has a low voltage condition. This sounds exactly like amps with a rail voltage well below spec.

Then the power supply needs service. There will be a bad rectifier or voltage regulator in the power supply.

you got to send it to the services center, from the description you gave nothing much you can do to rectify the problem by your self.

You can not really service modern gear like that.

I feel the power supply is most likely at fault. However there is the possibility, that there is a component somewhere else in the unit drawing excess current. The power supply might have a current limiting power supply as part of the protection system.

I can not recommend servicing a unit like that, without a service manual and instruments, required as indicated in the service procedure for your problem.
