Sansui G9700

Hello, I am looking for a receiver that was made around 1979 and made by Sansui. Model G9700. It delivers 200 watts per channel. Can anyone tell me what the going rate is for this beast in good working order? Thank you. alebone.

Judging from no personal experience, just googling, it looks like the going rate should be a few hundred dollars, more of less given it's condition. Looks like quite the nice stereo receiver, did you recently acquire one?

I can't imagine anyone paying that for a Sansui receiver. The Sansui line was never the top flight. In fact in their day they earned the acronym "Sansewage."

How did you decide that you wanted this receiver? It has a good amp section , but with no pre-out/main-in; it is tied to the receiver.
If you want want a vintage receiver my choice would be Marantz or McIntosh

At that price, I would expect it to be fully rebuilt with upgraded components.

I have one of these since buying it new in '79. They cost around $1000 new. Good receiver though, although I can't imagine paying that much for a used one. - dan
