Have you tried reading the manual?
Have you tried offering any real help? Thanks for visiting, but after reading your posts, don't bother coming back.
Dennolimit, that is a 2-channel unit, though it has A, B and C speaker-level (amplified) "zones". To connect an external amplifier, you can run 2 channels simply by sending the stereo line level (RCA) output of the receiver to two of the inputs of the amplifier. You only get 2 channels though, no matter how you slice it.
This isn't a multi-channel receiver, and you will not be getting surround sound out of it no matter how much mojo or how many channels of amplification you apply. If you want to keep the amp, perhaps you can invest in an entry-level receiver with preamplifier outputs?
Now, as for the QS-500, that's a quad system but still looks to only have two real channels of amplification... it seems to be used as a rear channel amplifier in conjunction with a typical two-channel receiver. Pair it with the above and you have the potential for 4 channels of audio, but no real "steerage" or true surround decoding (unless you have a 4-track quad source?)...
This stuff is so classic it's almost beyond me to be honest...
I found a site with some info:
